Knitting kids sweaters continues apace! This photo is from a few days ago, I’ve already finished the first sleeve, and am halfway done with the second. Then there is just a hood and the sewing up. Oh, and of course I have to knit another one.
I always have a bit of a shock when I knit with thicker yarn. I knit so much on thin yarn: fingering weight sweaters, socks and such. It takes a good amount of time to make progress. In comparisson this aran weight yarn practically knits itself! I started this on Friday, and finished the body on Monday. 6mm needles and garter stitch for the win! This is one of the reasons I picked this pattern for the two smaller sweaters I have to knit for my friends in England. It is always good to pick the best option for getting the job done on time! The other sweater will be the oposite colour scheme. The yarn is Cascade 128. I love this colourway (859 Lake Chelan Heather) with a passion. It is probably my favourite Cascade colour, they do it up in a few of their bases and I love it every time. I can’t believe that I’ve never knit with it before.
There was a baseball game on Saturday that helped with the knitting time. My boyfriend and I were offered some rather excellent tickets from my uncle as he couldn’t use them. It was a great way to spend an afternoon. It was sunny and warm, and the
Skydome Rogers Center had it’s dome open. I was very glad for my knitting though. I had forgotten how boring baseball can be. I found my attention drifting off more than once. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I much prefer a hockey game.
